The Barry Ennis Memorial Novice Handicap Steeplechase of €16,500 (Generously sponsored by the family of the late Barry Ennis) Of which the second will receive €3,300, the third €1,650 the fourth €825, and the fifth €412.50 An extended handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards that have not won a steeplechase before the 30th April, 2017, other than one hunters steeplechase within the previous two National Hunt seasons (123 = 11st 10lb) Top weight in the original handicap shall not be less than 11st 10lb About two miles €115.50 to enter, €33 extra if declared to run Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each such steeplechase won. Horses which receive a published weight of 9st 9lb or less will be entitled to a 50% reduction in entry fee. Should they be declared to run they will then become liable for the full amount of the cost to run.
