The Hibernia Steel Apprentice Handicap of €11,000 Of which the second will receive €2,200, the third €1,100, the fourth €550 and the fifth €275 An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (70 = 10st) About seven furlongs €77 to enter, €22 extra if declared to run Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won. Riders - Open to apprentices who are apprenticed to Trainers in Ireland only. (Allowances - up to and including 6th February and which are not cumulative) Apprentices who have not ridden three *winners allowed 7lb Those who have not ridden twenty *winners allowed 4lb Those who have not ridden thirty *winners allowed 2lb *Including races under any N.H. Rules Horses which receive a published weight of 8st 3lb or less will be entitled to a 50% reduction in entry fee. Should they be declared to run they will then become liable for the full amount of the cost to run.
