The Stephen Quirke Memorial Apprentice Handicap of €12,000 Of which the second will receive €2,400, the third €1,200, the fourth €600 and the fifth €300 An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (80 = 10st) About one mile €96 to enter, €24 extra if declared to run Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won. Riders - Apprentices who are apprenticed to trainers in Ireland only and who have not lost the right to claim the 5lb allowance under Rule 69 and who will not be allowed to carry whips. Allowances - (up to and including 5th October and which are not cumulative) Apprentices who have not ridden a *winner allowed 7lb Those who have not ridden three *winners allowed 4lb Those who have not ridden twenty *winners allowed 2lb * Including races under any N.H. Rules Horses which receive a published weight of 8st 3lb or less will be entitled to a 50% reduction in entry fee. Should they be declared to run they will then become liable for the full amount
