The Rainbow Communications Handicap Steeplechase of €16,000 (Generously sponsored by Rainbow Communications) Of which the second will receive €2,720, the third €1,280 and the fourth €800 An extended handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards (123 = 11st 10lb) Top weight in the original handicap shall not be less than 11st 10lb About three miles €128 to enter, €32 extra if declared to run Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each such steeplechase won. Note:- Any horse rated above 123 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 123 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. Horses which receive a published weight of 9st 9lb or less will be entitled to a 50% reduction in entry fee. Should they be declared to run they will then become liable for the full amount of the cost to run.
