The Awards & Gifts Apprentice Handicap of €14,000 (Generously sponsored by Awardsandgifts.ie) Of which the second will receive €2,800, the third €1,400, the fourth €700 and the fifth €350 An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (80 = 10st) About one mile and five furlongs €98 to enter, €28 extra if declared to run Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won. Riders: Apprentices who are apprenticed to trainers in Ireland only Allowances - (up to and including 3rd June and which are not cumulative) Apprentices who have not ridden three *winners allowed 7lb Those who have not ridden twenty *winners allowed 4lb Those who have not ridden thirty *winners allowed 2lb *Including races under any N.H. Rules Horses which receive a published weight of 8st 3lb or less will be entitled to a 50% reduction in entry fee. Should they be declared to run they will then become liable for the full amount of the cost to run.
