The John O'Connor Engineering Handicap of €8,500 (Generously sponsored by John O'Connor Engineering) Of which the second will receive €1,445, the third €680 and the fourth €425 An extended handicap for three yrs old only (70 = 10st) About one mile and 100 yds €68 to enter, €17 extra if declared to run Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Note:- Any horse rated above 70 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 70 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. Horses which receive a published weight of 8st 3lb or less will be entitled to a 50% reduction in entry fee. Should they be declared to run they will then become liable for the full amount of the cost to run.
